CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) – Monday night was super for multiple local softball and girls’ soccer teams. Tickets to state were punched in both sports, with Monday’s Super-Sectional winners advancing to the state semifinals.

Brooke Wells hit a three-run homer to lead Alabama past UCLA 6-3 after suffering a bloody lip earlier in their WCWS opener Thursday at Devon Park.

Michigan high school softball district titles were up for grabs on Saturday, and lots of Mid-Michigan teams were looking to bring home some hardware and keep their seasons alive. Mason lost to Battle Creek Lakeview 11-0 (5 innings) in the district finals.
